11-28-22   THOUGHTS

The role and position of Christ as our  FOREVER  HIGH  PRIEST is most significant!  Because Jesus became man and suffered and died in our place, we are to “hold fast” and “draw near”!  The ONE WHO INTERCEDES for us has lived as we live and understands us totally.  He’s “been there and done that!”  Verse 16 is so powerful.  Read it several times.  Put it on your refrigerator!  Heb 7:25  says simply  HE IS ABLE!  Truly He is a Son made perfect forever!
“Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace.”   Blessings await us!

Heb 4:14-16   Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  15  For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16  Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Heb 7:22-28     so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. 23  The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24  but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25  Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. 26  For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens;  27  who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. 28  For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.

My Prayer:
Thank you, Lord God, for our high priest who understands us.  We praise you for your Son who intercedes for us.  May we see the cost, and the tender closeness you have built into this relationship.  Help us to truly draw near to You, O God.  May we see that need so powerfully, that we desire You as all that is necessary in this life.  Teach us to abide in You.
In the name of Jesus,   Amen.
Pray for Connie, and Sherry, and Heather and Bob!
